![]() In a move to help further consolidate the UAE’s aerospace ambitions and take civil aviation to newer heights, Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) and Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for exploring satellite technology enablers following the ICAO’s Aviation System Block Upgrades (ASBUs) framework for the modernisation and enhancement of the Aerospace Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Infrastructure.Ĭommenting on the partnership, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and Chairman of dans, said: “This MoU endorses the UAE as the leading country for the advancements in aerospace and air traffic management domains. DANS also provides air navigation services for airport authorities and numerous prestigious airlines, including the World’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger numbers-Dubai International Airport.Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed and Hamad AlMansoori during the MoU signing. This day is to commemorate the milestones the sector has achieved to date, from its onset of humble beginnings dating back to the first airplane that landed in Al Mahatta Airport in Sharjah on 5th of October in 1932.ĭubai Air Navigation services (DANS) is the air navigation services provider that manages the Dubai and Northern Emirates airspace. Dubai Air Navigation Services observed UAE Civil Aviation Day with a visit by key dignitaries and officials from the global aviation sector to the Air Traffic Management facility at Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai South).
